A quick sampling of some of what we saw in July '02.
Playa Pelada, Nosara.
View towards Playa Pelada.
Steeple of hotel between Playas Guiones & Pelada. It's illegally within the reserve & has been under construction by a crazy Canadian for years. This can be seen in the distance in the Playa Pelada shot above.
Playa Guiones--the next beach to the south.
Falls on Rio de Mala Noche
Shar at falls
We spent a day canoeing through the mangroves
A roseate spoonbill...
and a white ibis we saw while canoeing.
This is a little place in San Juanillo--a fishing village. Note the hand-hewn construction of the bar stools--and everything else for that matter.
San Juanillo again...every village has a soccer field (even if it like San Juanillo, doesn't have a church) & every Sunday there's a game. Someone told me a guy's wife & kids may have no shoes, but he will have a soccer uniform.
To get to San Juanillo from Nosara, there's a creek, & a river you have to cross.
Tico boy casting a net near "Boca de Nosara," mouth of the Nosara River.
Tree fern in Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.
Shot taken from Continental Divide at Monteverde.
More Monteverde--I guess these are philodendrons.
Here's an epiphyte (a plant that grows on a plant) on a canopy walk in Monteverde.
Shar viewing epiphytes from sky bridge on another canopy walk in the Santa Elena Reserve, which is right near the Monteverde Reserve.
